Anemia

Anemia is a blood disorder that most found, which the levels of hemoglobin in the blood has decreased to below the normal based on age and gender. Besides decreasing of hemoglobin, anemia has decline the number of red blood cells (erythrocites).

Hemoglobin is the component of red blood cells that carries oxigen from the Lungs to the body. Many types of anemia occurs among other :

Iron Deficiency Anemia, iron is essential component of hemoglobin, lack of iron deficiency can cause low levels of hemoglobin in the blood. Commonly,Iron Deficiency not only occurs in women of childbearing age, but also occur in infants, children and adolescents in its infancy.

Pernicious anemia is one of anemia which is lack of substance (intrinsic factor) needed for the body absorption and processing of vitamin B12. This type of anemia is often hereditary (inherited) and usually experienced by elderly people.

Folic Acid Deficiency Anemia is characterized by reducing the number of red blood cells and red blood cells has large size (abnormal) or called megaloblastic anemia. By bad diet and alcohol consumption habits is the most common cause folic acid deficiency anemia. Beside of folic acid deficiency can be caused by other factors such as malabsorption and use of certain drugs such as antibiotics. Symptoms of folic acid deficiency anemia include :
  • Weight loss
  • Diarrhea and
  • Decreasing of ability for physical exercise (exercise)
